The Working Visit of the Esteemed President to the Republic of Kazakhstan Has Begun
On May 30, 2025, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, arrived in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for a working visit. As part of the visit, the esteemed President will participate in the first summit of heads of state in the “Central Asia – Italy” format.
The welcoming ceremony for the high-level guest was organized with great dignity. Upon the arrival of the aircraft carrying the President of Turkmenistan at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, soldiers of the Honor Guard lined up along both sides of a special carpeted pathway. The airport was festively decorated with the national flags of the summit participant countries.
The esteemed President was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the Mayor of Astana, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, as well as members of the official Turkmen delegation.
This summit aims to open a new chapter in the cooperation between Central Asia and Italy. It is planned that the esteemed President will deliver a speech at the forum. The fact that this significant international event is being held for the first time will pave the way for strengthening diplomatic relations in the region.
It is worth noting that diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Italian Republic have been ongoing since 1992. During this period, high-level visits have contributed to strengthening bilateral ties. In 2009 and 2019, the President of Turkmenistan paid official visits to Italy, and in 2015, a working visit was made. In 2014, the Prime Minister of Italy also visited Turkmenistan.
The participation of the President of Turkmenistan in such an important and historically significant event is yet another confirmation of our country's active role in the international arena.
