Turkmen-Indian Trade Cooperation Discussed

On July 24, a meeting took place in New Delhi between Turkmenistan's Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Nazar Agahanov, and India’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, Electronics and Information Technology, Jitin Prasada. The news was shared on Minister Prasada’s social media page.

The Indian side congratulated Minister Agahanov on his recent appointment and expressed appreciation for his first official visit to India.

During the discussions, the parties addressed the following topics:

  • Expansion of trade relations,

  • Strengthening cooperation in agriculture and food security,

  • Development of technological partnerships.

On the same day, Minister Agahanov held a separate meeting with representatives of the Indian business community at the Vanijya Bhawan building. The Indian side was represented by Suvidh Shah, Deputy Director General of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), and Mohit Yadav, Coordinating Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.

In this meeting, Minister Agahanov discussed ways to strengthen Turkmen-Indian trade and economic ties with his Indian counterparts. Special attention was given to expanding opportunities for exporters and enterprises in both countries.

The talks were held as part of high-level meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in the field of trade.
