Turkmenistan’s President Received the Head of the International Weightlifting Federation
On May 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow received Mohammed Jaloud, the head of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), who was visiting Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan maintains relations with the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, specialized federations, and other prestigious international organizations, clearly demonstrating the active role of sports diplomacy in the country.Turkmenistan is an active member of the IWF. The successful hosting of the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships in Ashgabat is a clear example, as it significantly advanced sports development in Turkmenistan and strengthened sports cooperation in the Asian region. The IWF head praised Turkmenistan’s modern sports infrastructure, which enables the hosting of world-class competitions and the training of high-level athletes.
