Uzbekistan introduces visa-free regime for U.S. citizens
Starting from January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will introduce a visa-free regime for citizens of the United States.
According to Report, citing local media, the decree titled “On measures to sharply increase the flow of tourists and rapidly expand the volume of tourism services in 2025–2026, as well as to enhance the role and significance of tourism in the economy” was signed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Under the decree, U.S. citizens will be allowed to stay in Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days from the date of entry.
The move aims to strengthen bilateral relations, boost tourism exchange, and enhance Uzbekistan’s international image as an open and welcoming travel destination, the statement said.
Earlier reports indicated that Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. President Donald Trump will meet next week in Washington.
