Meeting Held Between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan

On August 4, within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, and the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, S. Gafarova.

According to the official website of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, S. Gafarova highlighted the importance of the events organized within the framework of the UN conference and stated that the Parliamentary Forum would positively contribute to further activating inter-parliamentary cooperation in relevant areas.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan particularly emphasized the significance of the recent visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was also noted that the parliamentary dialogue — an integral part of Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation based on mutual benefit, equality, friendship, and brotherhood — is continuously progressing.

As reported, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation between the two friendly countries in all areas.
