Winners of Turkmenistan’s First Cartography Olympiad Announced

On December 17, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction announced the winners of the country’s first online cartography Olympiad held among students of higher educational institutions.

A total of 105 students from 21 universities across the country took part in the Olympiad. The competition results were summarized in both individual and team categories, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”

In the individual category, 9 participants won prize places:

First place — Muhammet Amanov, a student of the Aba Annaev International Horse Breeding Academy, and Aziza Gurbanbayeva, a student of the Dovletmammet Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

Second place — Gulberdi Orazov, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction; Gundogdy Aymammedov, a student of the Border Institute of Turkmenistan; and Oguldursun Nejimeddinova, a student of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.

Third place — Saparmyrat Nazarov, a student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan; Ysmaýyl Hojanepesow, a student of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute; Sähra Bäshimowa, a student of the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology; and Yaran Gurbanov, a student of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University.

The team competition results were as follows:

First place — Aba Annaev International Horse Breeding Academy and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction.

Second place — Dovletmammet Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, Turkmen State Energy Institute, and the Border Institute of Turkmenistan.

Third place — Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, and Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.

According to the report, the first-ever cartography Olympiad organized by a Turkmen higher educational institution served as an effective platform for identifying talented, knowledgeable, and broad-minded youth, as well as for assessing the level of training in this field.
