Civil Society Forum Begins on the Caspian Sea Coast

Today, the Civil Society Forum began in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone as part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). This was reported on the official TDH website.
The event is being attended by the UN Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Head of the National Center of Trade Unions, representatives of international organizations, civil society representatives, and high-level delegates from LLDCs.
The Civil Society Forum is an international platform designed to exchange experiences, propose new solutions, and strengthen the role of civil society in the implementation of the Awaza Programme of Action for LLDCs.
During the forum, participants will share leading practices in sustainable development, promote innovative ideas, and discuss ways to increase civil society’s impact in areas such as finance, trade, and environmental sustainability. New avenues for cooperation will also be explored.
Civil society is considered a vital part of multilateral cooperation and actively contributes to the preparation and implementation of national strategies. Thus, the successful implementation of the Awaza Programme relies not only on governmental efforts but also on the active participation of various societal groups — including scientific communities, the private sector, and public organizations.
The main goal of the forum is to facilitate the exchange of successful partnerships, best practices, and innovative solutions that serve the development goals of LLDCs, while creating a platform for productive dialogue among stakeholders.
